Cam Watilo

Greater Portland Marketing Director

camwatilo@fca.org

In 2018, Cam hadn’t found an internship where she could utilize the gifts and knowledge that the Lord has given her in marketing for an organization. After praying with her mom, she immediately discovered a marketing internship listed online with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in her hometown! After interviewing and accepting the role, she experienced a culture that promoted staying tight to Jesus and she was encouraged to grow professionally, relationally and spiritually during her three months as an intern. After gaining a few years of field marketing experience within a corporate landscape, the Lord opened the door for Cam to join FCA staff as the Greater Portland Marketing Director. Cam is thrilled to support local staff and the FCA organization as a whole through creating and executing effective marketing strategies to communicate the story of what God is doing through the ministry.

Kane Ulrich

Cowlitz County Area Director

kulrich@fca.org

As an athlete growing up, I played hockey and baseball year-round. I felt a tension between sports and faith as it seemed the two were always taking away from each other instead of complimenting one another. My parents did a great job of providing spiritual food through articles, sports new testaments, and the FCA magazine. When I attended Lower Columbia College to play baseball, I had an opportunity to attend my first FCA Huddle. It was the first time in my life I had community with people my age who were athletically focused, and mentally tough all while pursuing Christ. I love the mission of FCA to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church because I am a byproduct of the mission. It’s an honor to serve on staff and help coaches and athletes recognize who they are in Christ. Sports is simply a vehicle to glorify God and expand our witness.

Alyssa Root

Cowlitz County Area Representative

aroot@fca.org

Alyssa grew up in MT and went to her first FCA camp 25 years ago where she first encountered how personal and intimately God knew her and loved her. Her heart yearns for the joy and hope that comes in a relationship with Jesus Christ to be known. Alyssa struggled in college and finding her identity outside of sports and after graduating was able to call her FCA mentor from high school that pointed her back to Jesus and it was then she surrendered to Jesus as Lord. Then as her relationship deepened in the Lord as she was working in her Physical Therapy career, she was praying over going into ministry more and more each year and after 10 years got a call and opportunity to come on staff full time with FCA. To be able to share the love and intimacy of Jesus like those who poured into her in her earlier years was a dream come true.  She is thriving as she walks alongside people helping them along the path of spiritual restoration that is found in relationship with Jesus Christ. When the opportunity to take 2 things she loves – faith and sports- came about, she could not miss that opportunity. She now get the opportunity to pour into coaches and athletes to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. The world is hurting and needs Jesus and we see it all around us and she  feels like FCA is so well positioned to make an impact in a multitude of lives for an eternal impact.

Jennifer Kleven

Cowlitz County Administrative Assistant

jkleven@fca.org

Jennifer was introduced to FCA by her high school aged daughter. FCA changed the direction of her entire family from one focused on sports to one focused on Christ. As a child, sports were pivotal to shaping her into who she is today as they taught her to have a work ethic. She wishes FCA had been at her high school, as it would have given her an outlet to see the “bigger picture” in life and to know that while sports were important, God would fill all the voids that sports could not. It is important to Jennifer that more athletes and their families have the same opportunity to know the freedom they have in Christ.

Liv is now going on three years of being on team FCA and gets to help in achieving this Kingdom-minded goal.

Ty Collier

Westside North Area Director

tycollier@fca.org

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) impacted Ty massively in high school through a campus Huddle and a character coach who helped train him up. When Ty went off to college, he joined another campus Huddle and continued to be impacted by the FCA community. During this time, Ty experienced biblical community, identified and found his voice, grew spiritually, and personally. While in college, he began to lead student athletes and from there, God burdened Ty’s heart for sports ministry as a calling! Ty’s hope is that coaches, athletes and students would engage Jesus, be equipped by leaders and His Word, and be empowered to impact their circles of influence to make disciples who make disciples, for a lifetime.

Liv Hanbey

Westside South Area Representative

lhanbey@fca.org

Before FCA, Liv was a college athlete with the heart to serve people through a position in ministry. Liv was struggling to find a way to intersect her passion for athletics with her heart for people to know the Lord. Amidst this, Liv was having a huge identity struggle placing her worth in athletics. She started attending FCA at her college, George Fox University and found freedom in putting her full identity in Jesus. She was no longer an athlete who was also a Christian but a Christian who happened to be an athlete. Following this experience, Liv’s passion for the mission of every coach and athlete to know Jesus grew. A staff member in her area at the time told her about the opportunity to be a full-time FCA staff member. Following an internship with FCA during Liv’s senior year and college graduation, she knew FCA was where the Lord wanted her to be; advocating for athletes and coaches of all ages to use their platform as a catalyst for ministry.
